Monopolar surgical electrodes, also known as ablation electrodes, electrosurgical pens, or electrocoagulation cutters, are medical consumable products that connect a high-frequency electrosurgical knife to perform cutting and hemostasis during surgery. They are mainly composed of the electrode head, insulating sleeve, surgical handle, manual button switch, cable, and surgical connector plug.
The working principle of the monopolar surgical electrode is to use high-frequency current to cut and coagulate tissues. During the surgery, a negative electrode pad (neutral electrode) is usually placed on the patient to safely distribute the current.
